Our formulators

At the beginning of the natural health products adventure in 2018, I worked alongside our chemist and Nathalie, formulator and aromatologist, for the range called “Les Apothecaires”.

Then Jean-Yves Dionne, then a pharmacist and formulator, offered us his support in 2020.

He reviewed the first line of supplements and superfoods I offered and was amazed at our quality.

He therefore validated:

Multivitamins
Multiminerals
Silica (so well charged!)
He recommended an active version of Complex B , dosing each of the components.
He offered me the best hair and skin formula: Hair Cocktail
The best formula to support brain health (and detailed the benefits of the ingredients here)
He was reassured that our Tea Extract combined Camellia sinensis from Japan
He proposed adding the K to the D
He was pleased with the type of Magnesium (biglycinate) used, coupled with a B and taurine to improve its assimilation
He immediately started using our Fibers since we add hibiscus, a favorite plant for its polyphenol content.
He referred to our Greens as perfect, well-balanced (as with the multis, by the way)

He only added that we were missing a Zinc (which he combines with copper) and a Liver Supplement ; so he formulated it at my request.

Working together to formulate supplements that make a difference, he told me (and publicly too) that in 35 years of formulating for various brands and companies, he never had carte blanche. This is our unique and exceptional model: I asked him (as we did our other formulators) for the best ingredients in always optimal synergies. And this is why our consumers experience a difference with us.

He also proposed and validated:

Melatonin (which we also take as an anti-aging agent)
Hydrolyzed Collagen Combined with Hyaluronic Acid : “I’m Going to Consume It”
Its exceptional probiotics because they contain arabinogalactan, a prebiotic that makes a difference even in children.
Iodized salt
Hydrogen : “You have a winner”

Following our requests, he also formulated formulas that make the difference:

Menopause
Libido
Others will follow, filed with Health Canada

Following the publication of his nutricosmetic kit (when I mentioned to him that I wanted beauty supplements, he immediately replied: "you have pretty much everything! I'll tell you why"), the only thing missing was Selenium, which he combined with tomato lycopene : "they have to be real, not synthetic."

To help with sleep, he created Sleep Powder (he didn't want valerian because, as a pharmacist, his customers returned it to him, not liking it because of its bad smell) and reminded us that the plants together can be taken for daytime anxiety, as they are not sleeping pills but rather deep relaxants.

Also, at my request, he created Energy and Adaptogen to have energy and Defense Powder to intelligently, during contagion season, help/boost the immune system.

To help us achieve our daily protein intake, he also formulated our three Plant Protein blends for us, mimicking the amino acid profile of whey, promoting, among other things, the development of muscle mass.

At the end of these multiple developments, I asked him: "What is missing? What do you dream of having that would put your patients who are at the end of their rope "back on the right track"?"

"Are you still giving me carte blanche?"

"Of course."

Thus arrived: The Total , with 62 therapeutic claims, and the concentrated Omegas with Astaxanthin .

At the same time, he introduced me to his university professor, Pierre Haddad, a scientific researcher with an impressive career.

And also sent me Nellie's thesis as a reference, who also joined us!

Pierre had already received three approvals for products to help diabetics and those with poor metabolic health. Knowing the great need, I suggested he manufacture these products (Jean-Yves even mentioned in a conference that he had consumed Gluconig before a sugar shack meal)!

Then, to develop for us a complete Anti-aging Formula (so not only with hydroxytyrosol and resveratrol but also 10 other ingredients necessary to counteract aging on its 5 axes), as well as one to help with detox via all the elimination organs (not just the liver).

In short, our choice is to develop the best formulas, thus giving carte blanche to formulators with decades of experience, as much for the ingredients as their form and the appropriate synergies.

Therefore, to create more complete formulas with a greater mix of active components and in optimal concentrations.

This is our reason for being. This is what sets us apart, and it is in achieving this goal that we invest ourselves, body and soul, as well as all our resources.

A consumer product, typically found in pharmacies or supermarkets, can hardly adopt such a model. A distributor generally demands more than 50% in royalties, in addition to warehousing, transport, flyers, and other costs. It is therefore obvious that you very often find formulations lacking or having to face compromises...

Also be aware that an affiliate link means that a third party also takes a percentage that is added to the royalties mentioned above... and, therefore, does not end up in the bottle.

We prefer, once again, to put all our resources into the quality of each formula.
