Know why you want to change your lifestyle

Savoir pourquoi on veut changer de style de vie

When you want to make a lasting lifestyle change, you need to know why you want to make that change. Find OUR “WHY” and not someone else’s!

We also need to educate ourselves to understand the benefits that will motivate us to maintain these changes over time.

For this part, we're spoiled with Maison Jacynthe, since we can get all this information for free and in several ways. Obviously, Jacynthe's daily live broadcasts are extremely generous with information. Wow! We also find a lot of information via Jacynthe's letters, the product sheets on the website, the Blog and of course with the great advisors in the 14 MJ houses.

The importance of setting a realistic goal and determining what motivates us

Personally, I believe that any change that we begin without setting ourselves a realistic objective and especially without determining the reason that really motivates us, will make it much less likely to last over time.

Neuroscience teaches us that human beings are creatures of habit who feel more comfortable in what they already do, so to integrate a change, they need a sufficiently important reason.

In my case, my turning point came at the age of 39 when I was surrounded by women who were about ten years older than me, so around menopause. I often saw them in person only every 6 or 12 months, and what struck me was how, in the space of a year, many of them gained weight and, above all, lost energy.

Without knowing it, I had just found my "why," the reason that would motivate me to change my lifestyle. Not wanting to lose my vitality, I started reading and following training courses on health, nutrition, sports, etc. As I researched, I discovered that being sedentary had a price on our energy, and that poor nutrition had a price on our longevity.

Staying young, energetic and healthy would become my main motivation to permanently integrate a new lifestyle.

My meeting with Jacynthe

I had the pleasure of talking with Jacynthe about the lifestyle I have adopted.

But where to start?

So I tried to change so many things at once that it didn't last!!

So I realized that for me, integrating 1 or 2 or 3 changes for 1 month, before integrating a new one, was the best way to maintain these changes.

And what's wonderful about Maison Jacynthe is that Jacynthe's January 2024 Detox explains to us, week after week, what change to integrate, and especially why to integrate this change. You can therefore follow this plan, at your own pace, that is to say that if certain changes are more difficult for you to integrate, give yourself more time before integrating another one. Although it's been more than 20 years since I changed my lifestyle, Maison Jacynthe's Detox has made me discover new habits to integrate into my daily life.

So to optimize my energy, I started taking MJ supplements, my essentials, as I call them.

I always start my day with "Probiotics" which have been a major game changer for me. Before taking probiotics, every day on an empty stomach in the morning, I would catch 5-6 colds/flus per winter, whereas since I've been taking them assiduously, I don't catch any colds or only 1!

Then I take "Mineral Drop" in a little water, followed by Essential Fibers which I put in a large glass of water, room temperature, followed by a 2nd glass of water. The lukewarm water when I wake up is used to not make my body work by having to "warm" the water, since it is already at a lukewarm temperature.

Later in the day, I will take the following supplements, split between lunch and dinner, except for magnesium, which I take in the evening:

  • 2 vitamins D & K
  • 2 Omega
  • 1 Complex B
  • 2 to 3 Magnesium
  • 2 to 3 Health Support
  • 1 to 3 multivitamins The Total that I like to suck on like candy! The amount of multivitamins depends on my energy and the number of "Health Support" supplements I take.
  • 1 Metabzen
  • 1 Selenium
  • 1 Astaxanthin
  • 2 Focus
  • 1 Silica
  • 1 Menopause Formula
  • 1 Libido Formula

If that's a lot for you, start with what you're lacking, but personally, I think Vitamin D & K, Omega-3, B Complex, Magnesium and a Multivitamin are essential.

To make my life easier, I bought a set of containers (pill boxes) with one for each day of the week, separated into morning, noon, and evening. This way, I save time by filling my containers only once a week, and I don't forget to take the supplements I want to take. If I leave for the day, it's also easy for me to leave with only the container for the day.

Of course, the Fountain of Youth and an MJ protein shake complete this healthy energy cocktail.

The importance of moving

Regarding sport, I slowly started doing it about twenty years ago and now, at 61, I train 4 times a week, and when I don't do it, I feel it in my energy.

In the summer, I cycle between 1,000 and 2,000 kilometers because I love this sport.

What is important for me is to move, no matter the sport, and to move with intensity as much as possible, this way our body remains energetic.

In a future article, I will explain how I changed my diet and particularly reduced carbohydrates considerably, to gain energy and get closer to a Blue Zone diet, while allowing myself small deviations...

For me, my lifestyle is the choice I make to love myself, stay healthy and stay young, and therefore be good to myself and others.

It's not easy every day, but it's the choice I make because I know why I'm doing it...

It's a gift I give myself to enjoy life with full vitality.
