We would like to congratulate Camille Lopez for her powerful article on Maison Jacynthe.
Let's be clear: never, ever would we have the baseness to claim to have a "cure" to "defeat" the coronavirus; we're talking about life and death here. We tried yesterday, by message, to explain our point to Madame Lopez, but she had already pulled out her guns and was aiming for another devastating title for Maison Jacynthe. We asked her to watch our two daily live broadcasts for the last 7 days and to question her position. Not sure that was done. I promised myself that this type of situation would be a thing of the past. It was never my intention to promote essential oils against a deadly virus.
In my opinion, there was a certain interest in the article in question, not written by Maison Jacynthe, yet the journalist really sows confusion in this regard: "Choose the formula you prefer, but if you are one of the people at risk, do it! » recommends the article from Maison Jacynthe... The article ''from" Maison Jacynthe writes the journalist while it is not our article. And this statement by Xavier Babin does not refer to a weapon to fight the virus but rather to essential oils which can prove useful, in prevention, possessing antiviral properties of formidable effectiveness (to use the words of the article once again), according to experts in the field. No mention of covid-19. A doctor is quoted in the article and ridiculed by the journalist. If this article led Ms. Lopez to believe that the statement stipulating the choice of essential oils was for the purpose of countering the spread of covid-19, I am very surprised. For my part, none of the members who follow me seem to have thought so. I congratulate you Ms. Lopez on your perspicacity because you are the only one among thousands to whom we respond on a weekly basis, no one had raised this claim before you.
There was also a certain interest in other works with scientific references shared by Maison Jacynthe with the journalist and not at all noted by her. On the contrary, she allows herself to add to it with links to two other falsehoods, namely the one where Maison Jacynthe was allegedly warned for illegal use of chemicals, then, raising an old story that one of our naturopaths" gave advice when it was not our naturopath. A whole work of journalism. A knitting of words, of phrases to display sensationalism at our expense and this title "Maison Jacynthe promotes false treatments against the coronavirus". I hope that the questions she formulated to the expert interviewed were in context and not for the benefit of our destruction. You who follow me, understand my dismay when I have never promoted a miracle solution. A whole mending exercise so unprofessional and useless in this time of crisis. They want so much to silence me. While exhaustion and stress are getting to us all. I have been with you for 7 years. I am in love with a healthy lifestyle. I have a great penchant for simple, pleasant things, salad, natural products, essential oils. This is who I am and it will stay that way. I respect my community and our customers to the highest degree and my integrity as well as that of Maison Jacynthe are demonstrated to you on a daily basis.
I am sorry and saddened by this continued harassment by several media outlets. L'Actualité stands out with first place.
I would like to add that the pop-up window that now opens when you click on the linked site did not appear when you shared the article.
Written response to the journalist yesterday (March 25):
While all my time is devoted to working in concert with our extraordinary team in the lab, in addition to the chemists, biologists & extraordinary raw material artisans, I have to waste my time, & my calm, responding to a journalist in search of sensationalism (while the watchword, well served by one of my favorite hosts on air on Sunday evening, is to avoid it).
Several thousand of you watch my live broadcasts on a regular basis and I am convinced that none of you could claim that I could have in any way led anyone to believe that I am offering a "cure" to cure the scourge that we have been facing for several weeks.
Here is my response to a journalist from L'Actualité:
"It is crucial to be robust in your assertions. Nowhere in this article is a "remedy" proposed to cure a virus and even less so the coronavirus (this should not be confused with "antiviral properties"); and never in any of our references and even less in my shares have we made this claim and even less referred to a "remedy", let's be serious; I invite you to listen to all my capsules since last Monday the 15th before publishing anything; if so, it is difficult to be objective; take the opportunity to do some real investigative work; the passage you quote, written by the journalist Xavier Babin: "Choose the formula you prefer, but if you are one of the people at risk, do it!" reflects what is proposed above in his article in prevention with essential oils to wear or diffuse; rigor is required of you once again; he takes up the possibilities of use mentioned at the top of this sentence and not a remedy; you seem to be looking for sensationalism and it is I who warn you against fake news; I find myself, given your responsibility within the magazine, in a very particular situation; I have reread your text as well as that of the protocol, me and members of my team, and I ask you to indicate to me where we claim to have a remedy; nowhere is it written to cure but everywhere are recalled the same advice that public health repeats to us daily, namely to isolate ourselves and wash our hands; moreover, this morning I mentioned, with regard to ravintsara, this Dr: "Start with ravintsara which has the advantage of having few contraindications. On the wrists and to breathe. We can associate that of tea tree" (Dr Eric Ménat); I know very well that the article is written by a journalist, I mention it; then I resumed and read for the last 3 days what nurse Catherine Maranzana is doing, a qualified nurse who initiated the entry of aromatherapy into the medical structures of the Civil Hospitals of Colmar in France; I also referred this morning to the doctor of pharmacy Aude Maillard who also proposes the use of these essential oils by publishing the scientific studies (which you can find on pubmed) on laurel and tea tree on viruses and coronaviruses; we sell essential oils, most of which have npn issued by Health Canada and yes I refer to these articles on how to use them to help ourselves, not to cure, as much for our morale, to all tested, as in prevention and therapeutic complement in support of medicine. So please, spare me. Not knowing how you choose your subjects, is it in order of importance or danger for the population, obviously that is up to you, but I hope that you will publish the facts in their entirety and in their context. And I recommend that you don't mess around with tarnishing a company's reputation since you're the only one writing "remedy." This is very serious. Obviously, I'll take the liberty of publishing our exchanges myself. There's so much fake news populating social media right now.
I'll add this: formerly jmagazine (now maison jacynthe) was for a long time a tool for exchanges and sharing, in two words a blog, no products for sale, no online store, for 18 months; yes, that has changed a lot, we now offer thousands of salads at home and a range of natural products of impeccable quality. Nevertheless, try not to accuse us of opportunists: rest assured that given the scale of our business, it is not the sale of ravintsara, $11, even if it were to hundreds of people, that would greatly change our turnover. AND rest assured that my primary vocation, that of sharing, remains: my passion is to share authors, research, alternatives related to vegetable oils, essential oils, plants... and I will always continue to do so, count on me.
Jacynthe
