When we walked through the door of this ancestral home, we looked at each other... and we knew right away. We imagine you'll feel just as privileged.
Welcomed by the architect who dedicated so many years to restoring it to life, as well as by his wife who took the greatest care of it, we immediately felt the soul of this residence.
And what a story...
Known as Maison Papineau-Cléroux, this heritage building, whose origins date back to the late 18th century, has watched over Laval for nearly 250 years.
In the early 1800s, its ground floor housed the village's general store. People came in to stock up, exchange news, and meet.
The house also served as a stop for travelers. Carriages would stop there, and drivers would take the exterior staircase leading to the second floor before going to sleep on the third, where straw mattresses awaited them for the night.
This house has always welcomed people.
Today, we have the privilege of writing a new chapter in its history, with the greatest respect for its heritage, character, and soul. We can't wait to show it to you and welcome you there, sometime in late September. We are convinced that you will love it as much as we do.
