My go-to products: Gel Coup d'Eclat, After-Sun Body Lotion, Rose Serum for the face.
You need to give your skin what it needs after sun exposure.
The sun does us so much good, but it puts a lot of stress on our skin. After sun exposure, I like to replenish it with water, nourishing lipids, and antioxidants. This supports its barrier function, natural regeneration mechanisms, and helps it maintain its suppleness and radiance.
Aloe gel is wonderful both before… and after sun exposure.
Before, because well-hydrated skin has a better supported barrier function. After, because it helps maintain hydration, soothes the skin, and creates an environment conducive to its natural regeneration mechanisms.
I also like to replenish my skin with carotenoids.
Carotenoids are antioxidants naturally present in the skin. After sun exposure, they are more active in helping the skin cope with oxidative stress. That's why I like to find them in my after-sun serum.
The first ingredient is rosehip oil.
It is naturally rich in essential fatty acids, carotenoids, and antioxidant compounds. I like to say that it gives the skin the tools it needs to support its natural regeneration mechanisms after being put to the test by the sun.
Raspberry oil is particularly relevant in summer.
Naturally rich in essential fatty acids, vitamin E, and carotenoids, it nourishes the skin, helps preserve its barrier function, and provides particularly beneficial antioxidants after sun exposure.
What is the difference between an oil and a serum?
An oil primarily nourishes the skin. A serum is a true synergy of ingredients. Each oil has been chosen to provide something different: essential fatty acids, antioxidants, carotenoids, or plant extracts. Together, they work in complementarity to hydrate, nourish, support the skin's barrier function, and assist its natural regeneration mechanisms.
A friend of mine had a sunburn.
She applied the serum several times throughout the evening. The next day, she told me, "I can't believe it, my skin feels so comfortable again." This kind of feedback touches me deeply.
Recalling an important point:
The best after-sun treatment is to never let your skin burn or redden. Skin that reddens has already sustained damage from UV rays. Good sun protection always remains the first step. Then, we give the skin everything it needs to regain its balance.
I always follow this ritual in the evening after a day in the sun.
The next day, my skin is comfortable, supple, radiant… exactly what I wish for it.
