The real dangers

Les véritables dangers

On the microphone, in the media: "Beware of Jacynthe" "Jacynthe House is dangerous"

Misinformation is dangerous, as is smearing and bullying. Maison Jacynthe is more of a solution for informed and conscientious people who are making wiser choices for their well-being. Let's get serious and stop laughing at people; it's both ridiculous and shocking.

You have no idea how much I take the well-being of our clients, our guests, our listeners to heart and very seriously. It's the very foundation of our existence, our mission, it's why we're here, why we exist, it's how we started. We will always follow the laws, we will never deviate from the framework of the institutions that govern us.

I have the greatest respect and would even say gratitude for the medical profession. My son and I have gone through unique and difficult situations under the best imaginable care of doctors and specialists in Quebec. Thank you again.

Who is Maison Jacynthe?

Maison Jacynthe was born on March 15, 2013 via a web platform where I shared inspirations for a lifestyle that feels good (my first letter sent was based on a digestible and profitable food logic: fiber to start your days, salads to start your meals, green juice as a fountain of youth and energy balls as treats), physical exercise...

October 2014, an online store was born: we offer 4 natural, healthy, pure formulas that are part of my daily life: aromatic formula for the household, room fragrance, real floral water and 100% active beauty serum.

In November 2017, we acquired our first house in Sainte-Thérèse, at the request of the women of the region following a conference given and following a crush on an ancestral building rich in history. In this house, a kitchen at our disposal will serve as our first bistro to present on the menu only my gourmet salad composed of 12 to 14 organic shoots and vegetables.

June 2018, a second house, still heritage, in Montreal this time will become a flagship. Then quickly we will go to 9 establishments, in addition to the beauty barn as a lab, covering the province with the aim of supporting our guests well, both with information and with a warm experience that is worth the trip (without ever imposing sales objectives on our teams on site with the aim of ensuring that you are truly well supported) and with the aim of being independent, autonomous, free. Maison Jacynthe in 2021 hires 110 employees and encourages through its company many Quebec suppliers and local people. This company built in the space of 7 years by Sylvain and me is a success that lives up to our expectations. We have new ideas, for the benefit of our customers...

However, we now understand that by refusing the major distributors/advertisers, having also refused to sell my brand to a major media outlet ("it's my life! I can't leave it to you!!"), we have incurred their wrath.

Does this explain the media attacks on us from all sides?

Does Maison Jacynthe need the media? Fortunately, no, this is probably just to inflame them a little more.

Since the beginning of public interest in the lifestyle I propose (either with the release of my second book, in September 2014, or the first on my diet: "Vive la détox gourmande" became a bestseller in less than a week, my publisher had to order an emergency first reprint), certain avenues have begun to ridicule, to tarnish by referring to a sect, then to criticize the absence of scientific evidence. I have never presented myself as a scientist but rather as a spokesperson for a healthy lifestyle. I have, however, been able, since my first book, to have my writings reread by scientists and doctors to ensure their validity. Surely, a team of great health references (doctors, pharmacists, chemists, biologist, nutritionist) comes to surround me, also happy to meet again because the middle path taken has its share of difficulties: not going in the same direction as the mass does not achieve unanimity, obviously.

While we are also rallying more and more people interested in our different discourse, in healthy alternatives, knowing more and more about the real dangers of the mass-produced food and cosmetics proposed and praised, more and more, the group rallied around conformity, also subsidized by it, will spy on each of my actions to find the error, or create it, giving rise to a smear campaign lasting several years, to date.

At the same time, I've seen celebrities boast about recovering from Covid, for example, thanks to natural health products. When we raised this example with the College of Physicians, they told us that a celebrity had the right to talk about their experience.

Knowing that when I later learned that irrigation was illegal if administered by a non-health professional (and naturopaths in Quebec are not recognized as such), we legally asked Mr. Limoges directly to stop offering this activity. It is clear that the Collège des médecins has a lot of work on its plate because by doing a simple search today on irrigation offers, many centers appear in the Montreal region alone.

Let's summarize that the only conviction concerns these two videos and the fact that I exceeded my role as an interviewer in these two videos. AND that this is my first offense for which I am accused.

This is the only thing to say in my opinion: "the court understood that I was notably an interviewer and it ruled that in the two videos with Christian Limoges, I exceeded this role... of all the videos posted, there were two deemed problematic."

I'm dismayed, but I understand the situation. I don't deny that I showed passion and enthusiasm during these two videos. That's just the way I am. I obviously respect the court's decision, and it will clearly change my approach going forward. It's also very clear that there should be some reflection in the community.

At one time, some criticized Actumus for not complying with Health Canada's NPNs. For our part, at MJ, all products that must be approved by Health Canada have been. We comply with current laws. Now, today, Le Devoir has criticized, by putting MJ at the forefront, that the Act was too permissive and that Health Canada was letting retailers harm people. So despite the fact that MJ respects the laws, it still receives bad press. It's still not enough and it is accused of still abusing it.

Another topic of discussion: when we offer products or lifestyles to maintain or improve health, is this illegally practicing medicine? I imagine that all the wellness stakeholders will rally: trainers and sports centers, nutritionists, personalities who use their platforms to propose solutions to problems, natural product centers, natural product companies, speakers, and even health food producers, advertisers who offer them with wellness images... would all of them be practicing medicine illegally?

In any case, although this is not a criterion in law, in this type of case, it is a strict liability charge and it is not necessary to demonstrate the intention I never intended to practice medicine or to make people believe that I could practice it. I never wanted to deceive our customers, my intention was not to transgress the laws.
