Discovering this device
Which we will find in our beauty salons!
A device that has been widely used since the end of the 19th century, examples of which can be found in dermatology departments, reproduced in textbooks and illustrated dictionaries. Lucas Championnière was a surgeon born in 1843, practicing in the 1880s-1900s, who developed a sprayer that worked with a kettle, producing steam, which was released through a nozzle. This produces a suction of the product contained in the reservoir and a projection in the form of a nebulization. Designed to treat wounds, it could also be used to spray essential oils or sedative solutions.
This sprayer sprays the product (mineral water, plant maceration, floral water, tonic, etc.) in the form of warm droplets. The pores are then dilated. The skin breathes while becoming more receptive to care.
Inside the boiler there is an element that heats the water. The boiler is sealed with a cap, the pressure builds up and the steam escapes through the valve called the "steam ejector".
When the steam escapes, it creates a vacuum caused by the pressure difference, which causes the liquid (tonic) in the cup to rise. Upon contact with the liquid, the water vapor cools and becomes liquid again, resulting in the formation of droplets.
Thanks to the steam projected, the skin is truly pampered and becomes more supple and elastic, visibly invigorated.
