Myths and Facts About Cosmetics and Skin Products

Mythes et réalités concernant les cosmétiques et produits pour la peau

First, if you want beautiful skin, we start by taking care of our digestive tract, the two are connected! The skin is a pretty important eliminatory organ!

Secondly, did you know that vegetable glycerin (which we offer in our dry skin kit, but which you can also find in natural grocery stores) is not expensive and has essentially the same humectant effect as hyaluronic acid, namely that it can retain our hydration (and thus reduce fine lines...)?

Third, the program "La Facture" recently demonstrated that just because a product claims to be paraben-free does not mean it is not harmful; MI replaces it as a preservative and actually burns the skin, even if it is in tiny concentrations.

The vegetable oils in our serum do not make the skin oily; on the contrary, they are absorbed by the skin, which is not the case with creams.

As soon as we have a cream, we are not automatically in the presence of 100% active ingredients (among other things since the emulsifier that we often find in significant doses, often based on palm or coconut oil, does not nourish the skin).

Coconut oil may be OK for the body, but it is one of those fatty, saturated oils whose molecules are too large to penetrate the epidermis and therefore not recommended for the face since they remain on the surface of the skin (so we remain oily and encourage blackheads).

And that’s it for today’s learnings!
