I'm finishing writing for a Vancouver newspaper asking for my 9 summer essentials. Here they are, along with the why:
My summer essentials for face and body
Obviously, I make my mineral sunscreen with shea butter & zinc oxide (to also benefit from sublime skin care, excellent for our collagen)
The rose face trio : rose water , pure, without preservatives or fragrances obviously, only rose water, is a wonderful moisturizer while the rose serum for the face, is the best after sun that exists for the face; for the same reasons as the L'Après-Soleil body serum , it contains as its main ingredient rosehip (nicknamed vegetable collagen). In virgin rosehip, transretinoic acid or tretinoin is much more interesting at the topical level than retinol. According to initial research, it activates repair much more than retinol ever will. In https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/chemistry/all-trans-retinoic-acid we can read in the 1st paragraph that it is 10 to 100 times more powerful depending on the body system.
The cleansing oil in the rose trio (with rose water and rose serum) completes the beauty ritual and is also essential for the care of skin wearing a mask below. Also, the cleansing oil allows the skin to breathe and balances sebum while stimulating the skin's collagen. It is also a wonderful makeup remover.
Yes, La Cocotte is the summer body oil, a moisturizer (while the After-Sun is a restorative); with natural tropical aromas, it smells of real coconut on a base of bourbon vanilla (soothing), and not an artificial fragrance that we want to avoid (fragrances are endocrine disruptors). We can also apply it to our hair.
Especially in summer, we exfoliate our skin (to find it new at every opportunity; the skin regenerates every 24 hours, it is important to eliminate dead skin, the skin can only be cleaner and "younger" once the dead skin has been removed):
-every day for the body with Frutti Tutti (Himalayan salt exfoliant, which remineralizes the body at the same time; no need to go in the shower afterwards, you can exfoliate dry without rinsing, in the grass for example, and find your skin well nourished once the exfoliation is finished)
-we can complete with our Orange Blossom Soufflé body muslin (especially for those who can't get rid of their dry legs): our muslins (for the body and face) are our version of the cream but 100% natural, pure, active (without unnecessary emulsifying agents, without silicone or petroleum derivatives which clog the skin pores, of course, without preservatives or fragrances)
-we exfoliate our face with exfopur , a brilliant, purifying scrub which also allows, thanks to its volcanic rock dust, to recreate microdermabrasion at home by repeating the scrub 3 times in a row (it's a "must have" at maison Jacynthe; it makes imperfections such as pimples, spots, fine lines, and even dark circles disappear!); once the exfoliation or microdermabrasion is finished, we clean with cleansing oil (obligatory, the oil "pumps" the essential oils so that they don't stay on the face), then we spray the floral water and apply the serum while the skin is damp. Women tell us they feel "younger" by 10 to 20 years! (...and that this treatment reminds them of botox!!)
-the caramel fir butter is our ultimate treatment for repairing hands damaged by frequent washing and use of antiseptics; you can also get beautiful heels back by applying it to them for 3 nights in a row; and to protect skin damaged by wearing a mask, here is the sublime, caring beauty ritual (for the face):
1- Gentle cleansing with cleansing oil combined with floral water:
Spray on face to emulsify the oil on the skin and promote the emollient effect.
2-Rinse
3-Hydrate with floral water (in ablution, using the hands). Massage to make the floral water penetrate, to soak the surface cells well and begin to dissolve the spots that appeared when wearing the mask.
4-Apply a dab of caramel fir butter to damp skin.
5-Massage with your full hand to calm the skin's nerve endings and spray again with floral water to facilitate absorption.
The skin should feel comfortable when finished, otherwise add more nutrition or lighten with floral water if the skin is still smooth.
