As soon as I arrived at Maison Jacynthe's Lac-Beauport boutique for a facial and body treatment, a world of wonder and serenity opened up before me. I was immediately charmed by the character of the place as well as by the gentleness of the beautician, Marie-Josée. She gave me an overview of my time with her, to ensure that I was happy with everything and to adjust as needed.
After comfortably sinking into their treatment chair, as cozy as my bed with its warm blanket, my two hours as a true princess began with a foot bath with comforting soy milk and soothing rose petals. This was just the preamble, during which I had a few minutes to fully center my presence in the room and my body, Vive magazine in one hand and a cup of chaga in the other.
Marie-Josée began with a deep exfoliation of my face, after which she proceeded with the extractions. This was followed by a series of masks, oils and mists, the exact order of which I could not possibly list, as I was so relaxed by their divine scents and the surrounding music. One thing I am certain of, however, is that every touch on my skin was applied with the greatest respect and sincere delicacy.
My arms and legs have never felt so soft as after being exfoliated with sugar and completely enveloped in the Maison's neroli massage oil. I must admit that I had a hard time choosing among their body oils... I almost gave in to the temptation of the chocolate one (what an olfactory treat, though!). At the end of the day, honestly, the massage itself can only be fabulous no matter what you choose!
After two hours of being pampered from head to toe, one of my final joys was feeling the freshness of lavender floral water deeply soothe my face. To finish the ritual in style and also revitalize my inner self, Marie-Josée offered me a cold-pressed green juice and then left the room, giving me all the time I needed to get out of my little haven of well-being. I was delighted!
