New house, new show

Here it is, the beauty of Vaudreuil , our next Maison Jacynthe . At 426 Saint-Charles Avenue. Our doors will open around April 26th. (Until then, the current owner is letting go of his equipment & products from Les Vignes de Vaudreuil, if you wish to take advantage of them.) On our side, we can start assembling the team to welcome you. We are looking for beauticians, consultants, cooks. (Oh, how pleasant it will be to eat on site, the veranda is so welcoming and just as much, the immense garden). Write to carriere@maisonjacynthe.ca and we look forward to having you among us

Whether you work there or visit us, you will be so comfortable. I am completely charmed. Everything is perfect. The upper floor, once again, is moving (see here my post from last night at the ancestral house in Repentigny). A maze of small sloping rooms, the old tapestry still in place (it's crazy how the second floors of the houses remain uninhabited to this day, as if they were waiting for us, imagine me discovering them like a little girl in front of a treasure or amazed in a doll's house, then I start to live the space, to move in as if for myself and to imagine you there, the beautiful story repeats itself with always so much emotion).

This Vaudreuil beauty is 150 years old (built in 1872). Let's dive back in.

• My smoothing ritual

• Here is our beautiful tercentenary of Repentigny , built in 1718. The postal address at the time was "La vieille maison de pierre." No street number. We were finishing moving in and I suggested you visit, still touched by this house. The oldest in all of Lanaudière. I stop to imagine all these years, this experience and I am still amazed and admiring. The second had not been inhabited for 3 generations of owners. When I climbed there (missing steps!) the first time, it was the discovery of a treasure. Walls and floors untouched for so long. Without electricity, without water. I imagined the past and how to bring it back to life. Here it is. So charming: the ceiling at our head height. It couldn't be warmer. A square house was built in the gable to keep warm. The Archambaults lived there for 200 years. Then the Mayor lived there and had the second part of the house built in 1915 to develop a butter factory; another family lived there and subsequently the house became commercial in the 1970s.
