1- Sustainable

How can we truly appreciate our food if we no longer know where it comes from? In this touching documentary, chefs and farmers highlight the importance of the human relationships involved in our food lifestyles. Above all, what matters is the connection between us and the people who dedicate their lives to producing food for our bodies, while also caring about our health and the environment. They take us behind the scenes of sustainable and local agriculture, where we discover organic alternatives to toxic pesticides and grains, like wheat, that have been denatured and stripped of all their former nutritional value. Make way for a crucial revolution in the food system, where we trade short-term economic benefits for soil sustainability and the longevity of our grandchildren and animals!

2- Cowspiracy

What if the main cause of global warming wasn't our oil consumption or our industries that produce without awareness of their ecological footprint...? The filmmakers of Cowspiracy investigate the question to discover the most serious threat to our planet: industrial livestock farming. We quickly realize that environmental NGOs are aware of the facts, but that they still continue to intervene in less catastrophic problems, such as fossil fuels. According to studies carried out in the context of this documentary, methane (a gas that naturally escapes from our cows and reaches a global quantity of 150 billion gallons per day!), could be 25 to 100 times more devastating than on a scale of only twenty years. Dozens of statistics and astounding facts, also available on their website , make us review the powerful impact we have by reducing our meat consumption as much as possible and instead encouraging a vegan lifestyle.

3- Forks over knives

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food

This famous phrase, uttered by Hippocrates several centuries before Christ, is brought to the forefront in the opening moments of Forks over Knives , revealing the fundamental essence of the film. We follow the cases of several avant-garde doctors and their patients who decide to ditch the pills that have been sapping their vitality for years. They open their eyes to what they are used to consuming and make the conscious choice to take advantage of the benefits of an unprocessed, plant-based diet. The results: cancer growth is stopped, as are diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, and much more!

4- What the health

In this pro-vegan documentary, the same two directors of the film Cowspiracy , Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn, set out in search of poignant testimonies. It discusses all the ways in which society is misguided and, to a certain degree, powerless in the face of the dangers of the current food industry. Industrial meats are classified in group 1 of carcinogens, along with cigarettes, asbestos, and plutonium! On top of that, we discover that several health institutions are supported by powerful junk food chains. These latter create, almost voluntarily, one might say, ever more patients to treat, pills to prescribe, and, unfortunately, money to be made... That's enough to rethink our diet!

5- A Plastic Ocean (award-winning documentary)

Scientists are taking us on a voyage through the oceans with whales and fish, and flying through the skies with a multitude of bird species, to expose the alarming consequences of our overconsumption of plastic. In the last decade, we humans have produced more plastic waste than in the entire previous century. Statistically, we are talking about figures as staggering as 320 million tons per year, and less than 30% of which is recycled! This not only has repercussions on marine and terrestrial fauna, which cannot differentiate a plastic bag from a jellyfish, or filter waste from the plankton they feed on, but also on our own health. A Plastic Ocean details the harmful consequences, which are more than considerable: the fish we eat, whose meat is polluted with toxic chemicals; The highly estrogenic plastic in which the food industry packages our food, which, in other words, has a disruptive effect on the endocrine system. The film also presents the initiatives of new movements that we will most certainly want to follow. Plastic Bank , now internationally renowned, is saving the planet little by little by transforming our plastic waste into monetary currency, thus ensuring that it is reused and not thrown into nature.

6- Before the flood

In September 2014, appointed Messenger of Peace on the issue of climate change by the UN, Leonardo DiCaprio embarked on a two-year journey during which he traveled the planet in order to report on the seriousness of climate change and other terrestrial disasters; an ice cap melting visibly, uncontrollable floods, the wastes of Greenland, the forests of Indonesia ravaged by fires and clear-cutting... Although the situation seems quite disastrous, he will cross paths with several world leaders such as Elon Musk, Barack Obama, Pope Francis and other scientists with visionary and more optimistic views. They will offer us paths to follow to regain hope in the future of the world.
