Tips for correcting your eyebrows (for everyone) & eyelid makeup after 40!
Here are some valuable tips from Marco for correcting and thickening all types of eyebrows and widening the eyes when the eyelid becomes a little droopy, taken from the masterclass offered during our very first Jacynthe Workshop at our Salon/Boutique in Quebec City.
EYEBROWS
Eyebrows are one of the defining features of the face; they frame the eyes. Like a picture on a wall, without a frame, it's pretty, but with a frame, the effect is much more striking! We correct them even if we don't apply makeup to the rest of the eyes. The effect is astonishing!
3 points to determine before making the layout:
1. Using the handle of a brush, draw an imaginary line from the corner of our nostril to the inner corner of the eye. This is where the eyebrow should begin.
2. Then, to know where to end the eyebrow, always start from the corner of the nostril and go to the outer corner of the eye. Draw a small dot.
3. Finally, to know where to draw the highest point of the eyebrow arch, start from the nostril and draw an imaginary line that joins the middle of the pupil (making sure to look straight ahead). Draw a small dot. You are now ready to draw the eyebrow by connecting these 3 points.
Colors to use:
For blondes/brown hair we use powders #4 and #11

*** For light to medium hair, go one to one and a half shades darker.
*** For medium to dark hair, lighten the eyebrow by one to one and a half tones.
If necessary, slightly thicken the base of the eyebrow (top and bottom). The line will then be defined, rather dark, this is normal, we will come back to brush it later to soften it. We then continue the line to connect the three points determined earlier.
DAYTIME MAKEUP
To prepare our skin to receive makeup:
- Our basic beauty ritual provides the perfect base for flawless makeup, leaving skin smooth and soft, well hydrated and protected.
- and exfopro if our skin needs to be exfoliated.
Daytime makeup for all ages :
- foundation fluid (also a moisturizing and protective treatment that evens out the complexion, choose the color according to that of our neck) : we can apply a first layer with a brush to even out then to camouflage spots and redness, a second or even third, always with a brush or sponge and blend the fluid well into our skin with patting and circular movements for an ultra-natural finish
- terracotta #01 cuts out the cheek and we complete with the remaining powder on the brush to form a 3 from our temples to the jaw; we put some on the eyebrow arch
- illuminator #02 for a magnificent "glow" like that provided by candlelight or the moon: on the upper cheek and on the eyelid
- blush (even for those with couperose and rosacea since the blush blends into the skin color) #02 on the cheekbone
- draw the eyebrow as Marco suggests above (for all ages and every day too)
- mascara and presto! Chic, sophisticated and natural look!
*** We take care to blend well, mix everything to avoid strong colors, marked features. Marco put 3 layers of fluid on my cheeks for example to camouflage spots and redness then he often comes back with his foam sponge to blend everything well.
TIPS FOR MAKEUP AFTER 40
Now, for drooping eyelids or small eyelids , use a dark shadow on the mobile eyelid and blend it with #06 or #07 towards the eyebrow for a beautiful shine!
1. Apply the darker or medium color all over the mobile eyelid.
2. Take a slightly paler color. Start from the hollow and work your way up to the bottom.
or struck
*** We therefore avoid deepening the crease of the eyelid, which would have the effect of weighing down the eye.
*** Pearlescent eyeshadows can be used regardless of age!
For blue eyes: Browns and taupes will bring out the blue.
For green eyes: Anything pink, anything with a little red in it, mauves will bring out the green.
For brown eyes: Grays and charcoal bring out yellow, but any color works.
