Explanations of our beauty ritual, oil before the shower & Splash after the oil

The steps of the basic beauty ritual explained by Nathalie

The steps of the beauty ritual are as follows:

1. Skin cleansing:

  • Surface cleaning with Cleansing Oil; rinse with a washcloth.
  • Second cleansing by combining the Cleansing Oil and the Enhancer; rinse with a washcloth.

2. Hydration, tone:

  • Spray the floral water.

3. The hydration booster:

  • Apply the Enhancer.

4. Protection:

  • Finish with Cleansing Oil as a Serum.

The basic beauty ritual is a wonderful universal ritual with which to discover Maison Jacynthe.

Here you will find the starter set for the first universal beauty ritual including Cleansing Oil, Rose Floral Water and Enhancer.

With these three products, the nature of the skin is respected and it receives what it needs.

⇒ First step: cleansing the skin with Cleansing Oil

The Cleansing Oil is a formula composed of universal vegetable oils (Jojoba and Apricot). These oils will penetrate to different thicknesses of the skin and will already begin to work as an emollient.

In addition to vegetable oils, we find essential oils that are universal, such as Geranium, which has the ability to regulate seborrheic secretions. Geranium is also considered an exceptional preservative and anti-aging agent that will help with wrinkles and fine lines. In addition, we find Sandalwood essential oil and Ylang-Ylang essential oil, which stimulates microcirculation.

Cleansing Oil does much more than just cleanse. It will unclog, soften, and soften. When you wake up, your skin may be dull, covered in secretions, and you may feel the need to brighten it. Cleansing Oil will do the trick!

The formula is important, but so is the gesture that accompanies it: for it to do its job well, massage the Oil so that it can penetrate into the follicular ostia, into the pores of the skin, into all the interstices in order to rid the skin of the small amalgams that lodge there.

If the skin is a little more dehydrated, the cleansing oil should be accompanied by floral water to form an emulsion which will rid it of all its debris and allow for a better vehicle for cleansing.

Surface cleaning :

Massage the skin for 1 to 3 minutes, applying enough oil so that your fingers glide smoothly over the skin throughout the cleansing process. You should feel, with your fingertips, the small rough spots, whether it's dehydration or dryness. For wrinkles, we will work on stimulation (to plump the area). For small spots, we will feel the small heads and by working on them, we will already begin to soften or detach them. Surface cleansing allows you to rid the skin of a first layer. You will see the skin clearer immediately and you will feel the comfort, hydration, and suppleness.

If we feel that the oil is not blending well enough with our skin, we spray the floral water on it or in the palm of our hand to form an emulsion which will allow the skin to better receive the cleansing, allowing good communication.

Second cleaning (soaking) :

At this time of year especially (fall), when we are in a seasonal transition, a second cleansing is recommended. This second cleansing will allow us to work on our specific skin condition. At this stage, we apply a lot more oil to saturate the skin.

Add the Floral Water or the Enhancer and mix in your hand to create an emulsion. Apply it to the face, neck and décolleté to saturate the skin so that it is full of oil and water. This will allow it to release/expel its impurities and soften and smooth.

You can leave this soaked mask on your skin for a few minutes, just to see how your body's skin is hydrated, for example. This mask, in the morning, will have a great anti-wrinkle effect.

The second cleaning can be rinsed with a wet washcloth or a dry washcloth.

It is also possible at this stage to gently exfoliate the oil-soaked skin with a soft, dry cotton cloth.

⇒ Second step: moisturize, tone the skin with Floral Water

Floral water is the result of the distillation of essential oils.

Why use floral water instead of tap water? Floral water is pure and contains minerals, trace elements, and a little essential oil.

Floral water locks in the nutrition: the oil, by capturing water, provides a plumping effect (the skin swells). Since after cleansing, there is still a little oil in the skin, by applying floral water, the skin captures this water better. We see our skin lifted, because it is well hydrated. Hydration is also a communicator. So when we moisturize, we lock in the nutrition.

⇒ Third step: hydrate with the Sublimator

What is the Sublimator?

The Enhancer was created to retain water in the skin thanks to hyaluronic acid. We all have it naturally, but lose it over time or have less than we need.

Hyaluronic acid is a molecule that absorbs water like a sponge and retains up to 800 times its molecular weight in the skin. With the Enhancer, it is really at the level of the stratum corneum that we will plump. With this, we will seek an anti-aging effect, a regulating effect and we will also work on skin conditions. The assimilation of what we will subsequently apply to the skin will be optimized.

The Sublimator is a simple formula, without aloe gel, that is suitable for all skin types. The effect is refreshing, leaving the skin comfortable and radiant.

Water will allow the skin to breathe; hydration is important for this function.

⇒ Fourth step: protection, nutrition with Cleansing Oil as a serum

The serum naturally restores the hydrolipidic film, which is what the skin needs to protect itself against light, heat, cold, and therefore against dehydration, dryness, occlusion and asphyxia.

Massage a few drops to a pipette of Cleansing Oil as a serum, or with your serum of choice.

If you happen to apply too much, simply spray a little floral water and continue massaging. For the next ritual, simply apply a little less oil.

It is also possible to mix it with a little Sublimator for oilier skin.

Nathalie explains the benefits of oil on the skin before showering

Most of the oils we offer for body skin can be applied to the skin before showering. The Ayurvedic Serum and Sensuality Oil, for example, have an activating and warming effect and are ideal for this purpose. The Sensuality Oil was created to be applied before showering, but feel free to apply it after showering as well if you wish.

It is also very useful to dry brush your skin before applying the oil and showering.

Applying oil to our skin before rinsing it off with water is a protocol that is thousands of years old. Oil is an emollient. By saturating the skin with oil, it will be slightly swollen by the oil remaining on the surface. Since oil is the best solvent, it will act as a cleanser while also nourishing the surface cells of the skin.

By applying the oil a little longer before showering, for example about twenty minutes, there is a penetration that will allow for much more intense nourishment. The essential oils that are in the vegetable oils will work on different skin conditions like spots and small pimples. All of this will soften under the effect of this combination. The water will clear the surface, but there will always be some oil inside the skin. The skin will be sublimated because hydration is like a signature: the water ultimately signs the nourishment of the oil while ridding the skin of impurities, dead cells and all the little dust from the day or accumulated that comes out at night. In the end, the skin will be much more luminous, hydrated and will age beautifully. By integrating this protocol, we end up becoming a little bit what we put on our skin!

Splash will truly be the cosmetic enhancer that we spray after the shower, so after the oil, to enhance, smooth, and make the skin more luminous. Thus, once we have brought the oil to the skin, we will establish this nutrition through hydration to truly enhance but act even more on a cosmetic level by stabilizing, affirming the nutrition. Thus, the skin will accept it better, absorb it better and we will regain the beauty that we want for it.
