Wonderful Jacynthe,
I watched the live stream this morning where you explained that there would be no more discounts. Immediately, I felt that your decision made a lot of sense. I was an MJ customer at your very beginning. I then worked for you, and now I am a customer again: the former employee and the current customer approve of your decision.
Then I watched your live stream in the evening. I was moved and felt like writing to you. To send you energy and love.
When I discovered you, you were a significant turning point for me. I will be eternally grateful to you. How happy I was when you then sold your first products online. The cleansing oil and rose serum filled me with joy. To be. That was enough.
Your company then grew, and you offered new products (many at the request of customers, let's not forget!). So, if today we find ourselves with all these products, it's because you agreed to meet our needs. We don't have the right to reproach you for not being able to afford all of them today.
There's so much to say! I can't guarantee I won't get lost in my thoughts.
Firstly, I have never met the people behind the brands I appreciate. You are the only one. And you are available to us every day. You are at the head of a large company; you undoubtedly have many other things to do, but you always put us first.
But you have always held strong. Never losing your smile, your kindness, or your generosity.
Unfortunately, people don't realize what you can do for us. Like mortgaging the house to offer us a makeup line (thank you Sylvain for saying yes!!). You go to great lengths to spoil us.
It is therefore normal for us to take over and assume our responsibilities as consumers. You offer us a beautiful range of products. It's up to us to find our strategy and beauty routine that suits our skin and our wallet.
Yes, discounts on more expensive items were appreciated. We must also realize that, on some products, the 20% discount sometimes represented "only" a few dollars (understand me well, I am not criticizing these discounts; I am criticizing the fact that one can be outraged that a company no longer offers these discounts which sometimes were under $10). I also want to clarify that I am not someone with a large salary. I also have to do without certain products, and you know what? Sometimes it feels good to be "told no" by life, by the wallet. We appreciate what we have and we continue to dream. One day, I will treat myself to the botanical line. Today, I can't... But dreaming about it is exciting!! When MJ started, there was nothing better than my rose serum. Why stop honoring it?? It changed my life. Long before Botanique (which will change it later, I'm sure).
And it is important to recognize that you are not in "representation" mode, but rather in "listening" mode. That, too, is unique.
Secondly, we can have blind trust in MJ. And that is priceless. We have peace of mind using your products. I prefer the quality of your full-price products (prices that are fair) to putting who-knows-what on my skin or in my body, but at a discount. That makes no sense.
Thirdly, customers need to use their intelligence and be mature!! We all have wishes, dreams, but we also need to be realistic at times. Even if I want an Arcteryx coat, Birkenstocks, and a brand new Subaru, for now, I can't. And it would never occur to me to go "bacon" in front of the presidents of these companies to demand a discount. I have always been saddened by the ingratitude of many people who follow you. How can one not see all that MJ gives in time, money, and benevolence?? One must be incredibly dishonest to ignore it…
Fourthly, let's be grateful that your health is holding up (but how do you do it?). I experienced a strange emotion when I bought my very first MJ products in your early days. I panicked (really) at the thought that you might cease to exist one day. I had finally found my brand. The one that would finally give me beautiful, healthy, and radiant skin. I've already been afraid of losing you due to health reasons, then because "some people" kept putting obstacles in your way. I was also afraid that you would get fed up with all these clients... how to say... too demanding, unpleasant, mean.
Jacynthe, you are a great lady of Quebec. Truly.
You are passionate, honest, and so radiant. You are inspiring and strong. Real and sensitive.
I wish that your decision brings you happiness. May MJ rest a little after all these years of giving a lot (too much?).
You have the most beautiful company. So simple and so chic.
You change so many people's lives. Don't let us down. We won't let you down.
Sylvain, Louis, Charles, and Jonathan,
I spontaneously addressed Jacynthe. But of course, these kind words are also addressed to you.
Looking forward to meeting you and finding you happy and at peace.
With affection,
E
