Yesterday an article appeared in lapresse.ca, Jacynthe and the scientists . Some people are worried about me :). I'm doing very well, I actually smiled: it was to be expected!
- The author of the first comment ("such books do not really help readers to adopt better lifestyle habits, because the changes they propose are not sufficiently linked to pleasure") probably skimmed through my book too quickly because my approach is only linked to pleasure!!! I also have the impression that he did not see the recipe section since I have been offering, for 2 and a half years, gourmet recipes (which please, we all come back to it) with whole, natural ingredients and I have been saying no to anything industrialized for a long time! Common sense!
- Thanks to Dr. Juneau, "who does not believe, however, that this (the book's claims) is harmful to those who read it." The journalist reports that the doctor says he has changed his position on these issues. He no longer dismisses unconventional claims out of hand, as he once did.
- Another doctor also says that no one is in danger by reading my book (!) but that it is important not to put aside any medical treatment. I have never said the opposite . I believe in a global approach. (And as for dark circles, obviously good lifestyle habits are involved, I did not reduce the paragraph mentioned to a miracle related to dandelion and nettle teas: these support the cleaning of the liver and kidneys and consequently the reduction of dark circles! But of course you have to sleep well too!!!... but for some, good sleep is not always the only solution).
And now... I have two special mentions:
- The first goes to nutritionist Guylaine Guèvremont who says "what we call "detox" is in fact a dietary approach based around so-called "health" concepts, but focused on calorie restriction whose goal is essentially weight loss."
!!! If she had read my book properly , she would have seen that not only do I have a page against calories (!!!) but also that the recipes offered are not focused on calorie restriction. When you are on a weight loss diet, one of the first things to eliminate is nuts, which is not the case in the book. Chia too, in a weight loss diet, can be temporarily banned, the same goes for nut butters. So, the recipes offered are far from being those of a weight loss diet. I have never, ever associated calories with them, nor portions with which to limit yourself. On the other hand, the balanced diet that I propose, healthy for the body, ensures that we can find our healthy weight (different for everyone), quite simply, naturally (hundreds of testimonials received go in this direction), and of course, complemented by a harmonious lifestyle because excess stress increases the level of cortisol... In short, I mention it well in the book, health is a TOGETHER.
Why the word "detox", because the recipes offered are highly digestible AND nutritious (so our system, not clogged, starts working well again)
- And my champion, Bernard Lavallée*: he is surprised that I did not write a warning in my recipe book (???!!!) and among other curious comments, he mentions that "you must go see a doctor before cutting out gluten". So here is my warning: As my recipes are as healthy as can be and vitality and inspire you to enjoy good food, you may feel better, lose those extra pounds (without counting the calories!), regain your energy, sleep well, experience unsuspected well-being and your complexion, your eyes, your skin will amaze you!
And regarding gluten and the fear of putting it aside, this one is the first time I've heard it. Is there a recommended daily dose of gluten? Does gluten have other missions than making bread (and stomachs) swell? We need to think about it: maybe we should ask for concentrated ones so we don't run out and give them to the children in the morning so they have all the energy they need for school...
To enlighten you, here is what Jean-Yves Dionne wrote on the subject when a nutritionist attacked Jacqueline Lagacé's "gluten-free" speech, as well as the grandiose response from this respected scientist.
Here isCaroline Roy's (L'Angélique) information about xanthan gum because according to what my champion insinuates, using it (1 teaspoon at a time per complete recipe) causes the same effects as gluten. Furthermore, I never mentioned (as he claims) that a green juice would fix our liver or kidneys that are not working well. Here is Caroline's gallbladder story .
Caroline also mentions (when reading the text Jacynthe and the Scientists ): "it is dangerous to stop eating gluten (unless you are celiac) if you literally throw yourself into the current over-refined gluten-free industry. You then risk developing type 2 diabetes problems in the short term, hence the importance of Jacynthe's book in raising awareness about healthy eating. We have several health problems in society and diet plays a big part in them.
*"Mom, is that really him you invited home for Vive ? It's weird that he writes like that about what you do. " What I do, I do with my heart, my intention is to offer you inspirations that can improve your well-being. That's all! I don't want to confront anyone with my words, but to bring together and comfort those who have made healthy choices.
