To relieve the pressure of performance

Pour que tombe la pression de la performance

The children watched Growing Up Happy at school today. It was a great idea from their teacher, who then opened the discussion. I really wanted to be there to hear their thoughts on what makes them happy (the presence of their parents and supervised freedom, among other things).
I so hope that as many adults as possible will see this powerful documentary so that the pressure to perform that too many children are subjected to will be lifted. Pressure that we inflict on them, in my humble opinion, for no reason. It only takes a moment to think about it to realize that performance is no guarantee of success in life, let alone fulfillment.

Let's be clear: I'm all for self-improvement, responsibility, autonomy, giving your best, investing yourself completely, but then, there's no need for grades, exams, or devastating comparisons. For me, the tools that will serve life are cultivated through appreciation, comfort, and small daily successes.

And my list of "best schools" would include those with the most children with lively eyes reflecting that innate spark and enthusiasm. The most children who develop their own personalities too. And who learn to know themselves. And where all intelligences are valued.
