Tips from our specialists to boost your immune system

Trucs de nos spécialistes pour tonifier le système immunitaire

Here are the top 3 tips from our specialists, Dr. Brouillard and Dr. Dussault, as well as Jean-Yves Dionne, to boost our immune system (you can watch it from minute 23 to 30 by clicking on the "Winter Special" program above!)

Jacynthe's Potion : For one cup, extract the juice of ginger root (to taste, 1 inch), add 1 tsp of bee pollen, 1 tsp of honey and add hot water (wait 5 minutes after boiling)

Dr. Dussault does the same thing, sometimes with cayenne pepper.

"When you have a cold, there's nothing you can do! It's a virus!"

JY Dionne: "Ginger is recommended by Chinese medicine, by Health Canada."

Dr. Fog adds lemon (for vitamin C)

JY Dionne: Warm, warming spices (cinnamon, chilies, ginger, turmeric, etc.) help clear the air.

Dr. Brouillard: "Honey is a cough suppressant."

Top 3 tips for boosting the immune system from Dr. Dussault (which you can read on jmagazine :):

  • sleep quality
  • slow down (presence, being in sense, that it is not perfect)
  • abundance of plants in the diet

Top 3 from Dr. Brouillard ( his book, "Health Rethought" published by Editions de l'Homme ):

  • vitamin D , you can start with 10,000 IU per day for 3 to 5 days then reduce to 2000 IU per day daily
  • Meditation acts directly on the immune system; start with conscious breathing: breathe to the "hara" this energy center in the abdomen which deserves to be energized, we inhale through the nose for 7 seconds, we hold for 1 second, we exhale (through the nose or through the mouth with a light "ha") for 7 seconds, we hold for 1 second (ideally practice for 10 minutes, in the evening before going to bed to improve the quality of our sleep)
  • probiotics in children (to improve the quality of the microbiota)

Jean-Yves Dionne's Top 3 ("Frankly Healthy")

  • vitamin D
  • probiotics (bacteria to be taken regularly because they take time to establish themselves and when we stop taking them, they go away... it takes a long time to have an impact)
  • to be taken with prebiotics: soluble fibers which are the preferred foods for good bacteria in the intestine, feed the good side of the microbiota, strengthen the immune system and lower inflammation!

THANKS!!!
