Who are we and why the word "Detox"

Qui sommes-nous et pourquoi le mot "Détox"

Why did you choose the words "gourmet detox"? When I started sharing my recipes and inspirations more than two years ago (mouth oil ritual, green juices, invigorating recipes, and other wellness ideas), this information wasn't accessible to many, hence the desire to share this content, simply so that you can find, like me, your energy and vitality.

No more complicated than that and without any pretension.

I am not a nutritionist, a doctor, a pharmacist, or a scientist. I am simply a spokesperson for a lifestyle that has not been widely promoted and that deserves to be known, simply because it feels good.

My training? I have degrees in pure sciences and communications. I have accumulated a lot of experience over the past 20 years and am enriched by having now written 3 books, being editor-in-chief of maisonjacynthe.ca for 3 years and soon, of a bookzine, of also being designer of Vive... Throughout this wonderful journey, I have met several professionals and several of them are valuable and especially regular collaborators, who accompany me in everything I undertake. Rest assured, you are in good hands! The last book was written with Danielle Denichaud who has extensive training in nutrition (over 3 years), who accompanies us like no other as a nutrition consultant on jmagazine, the result has also been validated by doctors...

If "Vive la Détox" and then "Délices Détox" became a "best seller" in a few days, it was to my great surprise. I knew there was a need. Over the months, I heard the call of many who wanted to feel better in their bodies, change their habits, get back in shape, have healthier digestion, etc. Without inventing anything, I therefore proposed tentative solutions by focusing on pH, digestion, nutritious foods in favor of processed meals and all this, without developing an obsession with calories. When I realized that the type of diet I advocate focuses on the nutritional value of food while promoting simple digestion that allows us to conserve our energy, I was first shocked and then liberated. I, who counted each calorie ingested in a notebook and who felt trapped by my diet, I branched off to approach it as a wonderful ally for my vitality.

While I wrote the first cookbook with a certain restraint, your thousands of testimonials and numerous questions guided the writing of the anticipated sequel to Vive la Détox. Awaited because we need more of these gourmet recipes that we love and that only bring together vegetables, legumes, seeds and nuts in tempting sauces, satisfying snacks... We taste them, we are surprised, we ask for more, why? Because we feel fulfilled and light at the same time, because we find our energy, our vitality and it is this feeling that pushes us to continue, not the weight on the scale. The benefits are numerous since by focusing on whole and natural ingredients, we obviously promote the health and proper functioning of the body.

Now, the natural skincare line was not planned in my career, like none of this, I only follow the natural and the needs with this desire to communicate tips that can improve well-being and make a concrete change. The first treatments appeared and you asked for new ones. As much as your response to what I broadcast positioned me in a "life mission", as much we responded to your needs. That I find myself today with a beauty line and a happiness company, that I have become a "businesswoman", in spite of myself, is by dint of having followed my heart and having listened to you.

Good attracts good. I wrote and tested recipes on my own. Over the past few months, scientists have approached me as naturally as the jmagazine, Care and Books adventure began. During an oil change, the first one told me he would support my work for children with scientific studies. A family doctor offered me the chance to write for jmagazine, then two others. Four doctors have each reviewed my books (before they were printed!) to tell me that I was able to popularize promising principles.

Then, at one point, I simply exclaimed that I was happy to be able to offer you, happy with its effects, a healthy sunscreen, not by inventing words but by repeating a study, quite simply, because I don't invent anything, I spread, I carry in words and in writing what I learn, which can make a difference on health, without pushing anyone to follow me, although professionals have been repeating since the surprising controversies that there is no danger in cooking my recipes :), on the contrary! and that no self-prescription is appropriate since no dogma is favored other than eating well, that pleasure is always there and that I state loud and clear that I occasionally eat fries, that I cook meat for my men and that my children can find themselves at the candy store for the simple happiness of the moment!

I am writing because some professionals are tied to their associations and cannot deviate from the guidelines established by them, which does not allow much latitude and is unique in Quebec. If many of you feel better thanks, very humbly because I am not making this up, to what I am sharing, can we applaud this improved health and this return to healthy cooking because it is common sense, in addition to being quick to prepare (5 minutes on average!) and mouthwatering?

By making a wish that we stop looking for bugs where there are none!!!

And to be clear, I never said that sunscreens were carcinogenic (the study I shared rather questioned the link between the application of commercial sunscreens and the absence of melanoma; the only personal "input" I made was to propose a healthy alternative) and after consultations with my doctors, there is no danger in cutting out gluten!!! Let's see!!! I will hang up my skates when the scientific community affirms and proves that it is better to eat a "hot dog" than broccoli or that it is better to smear ourselves (children included) with petroleum derivatives, preservatives and various fragrances rather than organic and edible vegetable oils!

Detox for me means eliminating what is not digestible in favor of foods that nourish our cells (which then no longer cry out for hunger) and allow our body to function well. Detox was not yet a word commonly used here in Quebec and I found that it defined this dietary philosophy well (because we promote "clean" intestines and a digestive system while achieving a "vibrant" well-being).
