Aromatherapy, a valuable ally for symptoms related to menopause

L’aromathérapie, précieuse alliée pour les symptômes reliés à la ménopause

Some experts believe that essential oils containing phytoestrogens, plant-based substances that behave similarly to the hormone estrogen, can help balance hormones and relieve symptoms such as mood swings and hot flashes during menopause.

For example, one systematic review 1 included 5 trials on the effects of aromatherapy on menopausal symptoms. The findings suggest that aromatherapy is effective in managing menopausal symptoms.

Also according to Jane Buckle RN, PhD (doctorate in health management and a master's degree in aromatherapy), the use of phytoestrogens as aromatherapy can relieve menopausal symptoms and improve lipid profiles in postmenopausal women. 2
