How to read a label!!!
It's not that I'm angry, but... I browse, I see what's on offer and it's not always very fair!
We learn to read the ingredients in what we eat, but what about what we put on our skin? The enzymes in our skin absorb, break down, and absorb the food we eat. The skin isn't a raincoat, but it's a pretty important organ, thank you.
So here it is: if you are offered a product with water as the first ingredient, know that it does not hydrate and is not an active ingredient for your skin (you should drink it, yes, but staying in the shower does not saturate your skin...) and do not pay for it!
If you see "fragrances" oops, danger... even if we're in a line that sends a natural image, fragrances are one of the 3 dangers we want to eliminate (along with preservatives and petroleum derivatives). David Suzuki wrote about the ingredients to avoid; you can also go to Skin Deep to validate those whose name you don't recognize (I liked it when LaPresse.ca noted that our labels were simple and understandable).
Now, in the world of natural products, I see serums whose prices start from $300 up to $465 and whose first ingredients are "sunflower oil" or "almond oil" "aloe juice" or "glycerin"... Douxloulou!! At that rate, get some at the grocery store, you will be well served!!
Yes to 100% natural, which opens the door to the power of the plant world, fresh, alive, 100% effective. Yes to this new generation made possible by avant-garde extraction processes... I realize that what we offer you ("local" "cruelty-free" and "handmade") surpasses anything I can see in the world. I invite you to look at the ingredient lists and rejoice in the CO2 sea buckthorn and rosehip oils (carotenes for collagen), evening primrose and borage (omegas for ceramides), natural vitamin E, essential oils (all equally prized and carefully chosen, for wrinkles, fragrance, preservation) that make up 100% of our serum, nothing else!
