All-you-can-eat buffet

Buffet à volonté

All-you-can-eat buffet!

Spring is back! The tulips are blooming! The birds are chirping and nesting. How wonderful it is to be back to life!

This season is one of sowing. We put in our best seeds and our best compost to obtain a beautiful garden, a beautiful harvest! For some, it is the return to life. A new life perhaps; a new beginning.

There is no better time than spring to be reborn like the nature that surrounds us!

Public markets will take place, farmers busy in their fields will soon offer us good fresh produce!

All that's left is to add some color to our plates to benefit from the vitality of seasonal foods from our local producers!

What if the best medicine was what you put on your plate? That an epidemic of healthy eating habits would cost me my job! Because many of our chronic diseases can be prevented and reversed simply by being aware of what you put in your mouth!

We now know, thanks to scientific research in cancer prevention, that lifestyle is the most important factor if you don't smoke. Being thin and having a body mass index between 21 and 23 creates an environment hostile to the development of cancer and other chronic diseases such as diabetes. Obesity has become a pandemic and a public health problem. Our environment, our fast-paced lifestyle, and our lifestyle habits promote obesity through a sedentary lifestyle and the processed foods we consume on a daily basis. By creating a climate of inflammation in your tissues, cancer cells are even happier because they need inflammation to grow!

So let's attack, turn the tide and prepare our fertile ground for health and vitality!

Step 1:

Goodbye to nutrition labels, calorie counting, diets, weight loss, the scale, and all that negative talk about your body. It's perfect just the way it is! You've done what you could up until now! Now choose Love! Listen to your body, love it, and thank it for giving you new possibilities every day! To achieve this, start by choosing fresh, unprocessed, local, and organically grown foods! As much as possible, of course!

Step 2:

Eat!

This way to plant-based chemotherapy! Fill your plate with foods that protect against cancer. Population studies have demonstrated this. In fact, Richard Béliveau and Denis Gingras shed some light on this in their book "Foods Against Cancer." Plants have a major impact on health due to their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. These include, most notably:

-Cabbage!! (e.g. cauliflower, broccoli, kale) This reduces the risk of bladder, prostate and breast cancer by 50%!

-Green, green, green vegetables! (spinach, kale, watercress) 75% reduction in pancreatic cancer!

-Garlic, onion, shallots, leeks! Have bad breath, it's good to protect you from stomach cancer, your intestine and unwanted friends ;-)

-Green tea. It has been found to have a significant protective effect against colorectal cancer! Open bar!

Step 3:

Breathe! (see previous article) Give yourself time to eat, digest, and enjoy your food. Your body will send you signals of hunger and satiety. Learn to listen to them again!

Step 4:

Drink water! Are you hungry or thirsty? When in doubt, start by drinking a large glass of water and wait and see...

Step 5:

Observe the changes, listen. Don't overdo it or be radical. We're all imperfect and we all love Grandma's little fudge square from time to time. What I call soul food. But just know how much! Anyway, where's the fun in eating 38 fudge squares? An elephant is best eaten one bite at a time! I'm not sure what my metaphor is here... hahaha! I prefer them in the wild!

Step 6:

Move! You already knew that, right?

Far be it from me to blame anyone who is overweight or obese. This is a multidimensional health problem for which I highly recommend surrounding yourself with health professionals to gradually take control of your health. For the Yogi, what matters is the journey and not the destination. Remember that evolution is a path of growth that sometimes has its ups and downs. Keep your health and vitality goal in mind and return to it in difficult times. Don't hesitate to join a support group, whether through social media or at your local fitness center! Surround yourself with people who motivate you and believe in you! It's valuable and in many cases the key to success!

See you soon, my little broccolis! I'm going to make myself a green juice because it tastes good, but also because it's a weapon of mass destruction for cancer and fat cells!

Your Doctor Love ;-)
