I'm nominated for Farmer of the Year.
The news is surprising for the traditional producer and happy for the ecological future: as for the rest, I am learning to get closer to my instinct as advocated by Permaculture, thanks to whose principles, the autonomous and nourishing whole that I am trying to implement is also zero waste.
In photos.
My animals have several functions: animal therapy, feeding the earth (I learned to do it, what a luxury), plowing it, protecting it...
I favor beauty and medicinal plants (roses, centauries, lavender, echinacea, chamomile, calendula) and small antioxidant fruits (sea buckthorn, goji, blackcurrant, kiwi)
Some flowers feed the bees and then brighten our mood!
The table grapes from my vineyard are used for feeding (fabulous first harvest, you loved them!) and the residue from them is used for exfoliation.
I made my first rose distillations and last night I bottled my first cornflower waters.
In a few days I will be pressing our sea buckthorn (I keep some for powerful smoothies) for their carotene-rich oil, which the skin loves.
Recently, respectfully extracted honey has also been used in exceptional anti-wrinkle masks.
I also have a magical place for toddlers with giant sunflowers, endangered birdhouses, pine trees that shelter dwarfs, vine arbors and further on, a maple and garlic corner.
So, I'm a farmer who favors health and beauty plantations, exploring biodynamics in a setting where one person's waste becomes another person's food. I learn from my mistakes, I love the adventure and the ideas that emerge as I go along. Thanks to this little path that guides me, as well as to those of my lover and my children who paint this harmonious picture with me.
