The Language and Importance of Hair Health

Le langage et l'importance de la santé des cheveux
Posted by Marie-Ève who unfortunately does not know who the author is. "I read this passage on a fb page that honors Native American origins. And it was written: author unknown. A wonderful text that I read and that I share with you because it faithfully represents the philosophy of long hair among the First Nations."
Our hair is the physical extent of our thoughts. It is the connection between our physical body and our mind. Men and women of wisdom have always worn long hair. Conversely, where tyranny has presented itself in any form, short hair has been obligatory, making those subjected to it obedient and docile. Often, when people were conquered or enslaved, their hair was cut as a sign of slavery, powerlessness, and humiliation, as with the First Nations...
THE LANGUAGE OF HAIRSTYLES
Hair has its own language and character, and the way it is styled is very important to those who wear it. Today, most people style their hair without knowing the meaning of their hairstyles and the style in which they wear their hair (the middle part represents the alignment of thought; the braid represents the unity of thought with the heart; loose hair represents security; gathered hair represents conviction, etc.).
Among native peoples, the way they style their hair is of the utmost importance because it is how they signal their participation in group events: marriage, war, joy, mourning, etc. Through hair and hairstyles, we can thus know a person's state of mind, their status in society, etc. Hairstyles also change with the seasons. They can be public, private, or ceremonial.
A SPIRITUAL DIMENSION
Hair represents an individual's thoughts and spiritual state, demonstrating the connections and spiritual unity of their family and defining the cultural harmony and spiritual alignment of their community. In many indigenous tribes, cutting hair represents a grieving process or a closeness to death. Hair has a mystical dimension. No one should touch a person's hair without their permission.
ENERGY CHANNELS
For many indigenous peoples, hair is an integral part of who they are. Therefore, they rarely or never cut it, and always according to a dedicated ritual. When the hair has reached its maximum length, phosphorus, calcium, and vitamin D enter the lymphatic fluid and then the cerebrospinal fluid through two ducts located above the brain. This ionic change makes memory more efficient and leads to more physical energy, endurance, and stoicism. If you decide to cut your hair, not only will this energy and nutrients be lost, but your body will have to provide a large amount of vital energy and nutrients to regrow the lost hair.
COSMIC ANTENNAS
Hair is the antennae that collects and channels the sun's energy, or prana, to the frontal lobes, the part of the brain used for meditation and visualization. These antennae act as conduits to access more cosmic energy. It takes about three years since the last haircut for new antennae to form on the hair tips.
WET HAIR
When you comb your wet hair, it will tend to shrink and tighten a little, or even break as it dries. The idea is to sit in the sun to allow your wet hair to dry naturally and absorb some extra vitamin D. It is recommended to wash your hair after being upset or angry to help process emotions.
CYCLIC CLOSURE
Like every cell in our body, hair has memory within it, which is why it is common that when we close a chapter of our life, our inner being asks us for a haircut.
ACCESSORIES
It is also recommended to use a wooden comb or a natural bristle brush to style hair because they allow energy to circulate well thanks to the stimulation of the scalp it provides. Wood does not generate static electricity which causes a loss of energy from the hair to the brain.
HEALTHY HAIRDRESSING
Combing your hair from the front to the back, back to the front, and then several times to the right and left will refresh you. All the fatigue of the day will disappear. For women, using this technique to style their hair twice a day can help maintain youthfulness, a healthy menstrual cycle, and good eyesight. If you have problems with baldness, the lack of energy in your hair can be counteracted with more meditation. If you find gray hair in your hair, keep in mind that silver or white color increases the flow of energy and vitamins to compensate for aging. For brain health, as you age, try to keep your hair as healthy and natural as possible.
