Meat requires a good amount of hydrochloric acid for digestion. Often, poor food combinations contribute to poor digestion.

I suggest you follow the good food combining rules below for meat/poultry/fish:

OK with low-starch vegetables:

  • Asparagus
  • Bamboo
  • Beetroot leaves
  • Bok choy
  • Broccoli
  • Brussels sprouts
  • Cabbage
  • Carrot
  • Cauliflower
  • Celeriac
  • Celery
  • Chives
  • Collard
  • Cucumber
  • White and red radish
  • Dandelion leaves
  • Endive
  • Spinach
  • Fennel
  • Garlic
  • Green bean
  • Kale
  • Rutabaga
  • Leeks
  • Salad
  • Okra
  • Onion
  • Parsley
  • Shallot
  • Sprouts (except legume sprouts)
  • Swiss chard
  • Zucchini
  • Cress
  • Turnip

DO NOT EAT with:

  • Beet
  • Parsnip
  • Squash
  • Potato
  • Sweet potato
  • Cereals (wheat, barley, semolina, pasta, bread, kamut, spelt, rice, corn)
  • Pseudo grains (amaranth, millet, quinoa, buckwheat)
  • Cheese
  • Nuts, seeds
