Format: 5 ml

Certified pure

Origin: Paraguay

The bigaradier is a small tree of 3 to 10 meters, thorny, with evergreen leaves, very fragrant flowers, with edible but bitter fruits. This tiny tree is a real treasure with immense virtues to adopt, since its essential oil is extracted, either from the zest, the flowers or the young twigs, and can be used in a wide spectrum.1

A single-blind randomized controlled trial2 was conducted in 80 patients (randomly divided into 2 groups, 40 in each group, i.e., 1 intervention group and 1 Control group) undergoing coronary angiography at Imam Ali Hospital in Kermanshah, Iran, from April to November 2016 to determine the efficacy and safety of Citrus aurantium essential oil on anxiety in these patients.

Patients in the intervention group inhaled Citrus aurantium essential oil for 15 to 20 minutes approximately 60 minutes before angiography. Following the same procedure, distilled water was used instead of Citrus aurantium in the control group. Anxiety scores, vital signs including systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), respiratory rate, and pulse rate were recorded before and 20 minutes after the procedure.  Among the Intervention group, the mean scores of STAI, SBP, DBP, respiratory rate and pulse rate were significantly decreased while in the Control group, neither the anxiety scores nor the vital signs changed significantly.  The conclusion shows that Citrus aurantium essential oil was effective in reducing anxiety and stress levels in patients undergoing coronary angiography.

It's a great idea to try it as a vapour, as its fresh, floral and herbaceous scent is much appreciated by children and adults alike!
