Louise, the inspiration behind our make-up for dark skin

Louise, the inspiration behind our make-up for dark skin, has tested our Voile de teint and loves it.

She tells us all about it!

Our Voile de teint

There's an expression that goes: “To dare is to have”. Yes, I stole that one from dear Alfred... de Musset.

Let me tell you about it.

My name is Louise, and I'm the mother of two wonderful little boys, aged 9 and 11.

I was born under the hot, beautiful African sun. I might as well tell you, healthy, skin-friendly beauty products for our skin tone aren't exactly a dime a dozen.

During my puberty and even my pregnancies, I was lucky enough not to suffer from acne. I'd always had beautiful skin.

Then came my mid-thirties! Pimples here and there. I tried everything: the so-called “healthy” products bought in pharmacies and recommended by dermatologists, make-up from “big” name companies at exorbitant prices. Nothing worked.

Then Jacynthe crossed my path at my boys' school. Our youngest became friends.  At first, I didn't dare ask her. Then one day, I said to myself... “If worst comes to worst, she'll say no."

So I said, “Jacynthe, if you make beauty products for dark skin, I'll buy them.”

She replied: “Listen, we're thinking about it.”

I never imagined that my request would materialize so quickly! In just a few months, she knocked on my car window, just before the Christmas vacations. She handed me a box and said: "Try this out for us and let us know what you think!”

I might as well tell you that I had to force myself not to start crying because I was so happy.

And here I am, barely a year and a half to the day, wearing this wonderful, light, skin-friendly Voile de teint, which even contributes to my skin's health and well-being. No transfer to clothes, it stays on and penetrates to nourish. No more pimples, just beautiful, soft, healthy skin. Unlike other products we're used to. I'm so happy to wear it.

A real favorite. Many thanks Jacynthe!

Our Doux bébé hair care line

My other favorite?

I was telling you about my boys earlier. Yes, two wonderful “café-au-lait” guys with long, beautiful curly hair.

Sunday afternoons are the “sunday hair care” ritual, which means, since they were little, hours in the bath, washing, detangling and styling their hair for the week. Which of course includes fighting to untangle the hair! Doux bébé was also a wonderful discovery, and another favorite! Since it has become part of the ritual... in just 30 minutes per child, everything is done, so quickly that my youngest always asks me if he can stay in the bath for a while, to soak a little, he says.

No more fights or “no, I'm not first! ”. Sunday afternoons in a gentle, joyful mood!
