Kunzea - Essential Oil

Size: 5 ml

Certified pure

Origin: Australia

Kunzea is a small white flowered tree that can grow up to 2000 meters above sea level, when it covers the ground in abundance, resembling a carpet of snow.1 It is considered a natural treasure in Australia and was named after the German botanist, entomologist and physician Gustav Kunze (1793-1851). This tree, also commonly known as the "tick bush", is said to serve as a refuge for animals to sleep in to protect themselves from biting insects.2

Dr. Daniel Pénoël, a pioneering French physician in medical aromatherapy and a scientist who studies the therapeutic use of essential oils, described the organic composition of Kunzea as very rare; on average, the percentage of alpha-pinene (a powerful antiseptic constituent) in Kunzea oil is higher than that of cineole (a powerful antiviral constituent). He also mentions that the composition of the different constituents of this oil is particularly important for reducing inflammation  linked with auto-immune diseases, in particular Crohn's disease..3 A beautiful and versatile oil to discover!
