Nut-Free “Love” Butter

Nut-Free “Love” Butter
  • 2 cups toasted coconut - Toast under broiler or in non-stick pan. Do not let it burn like I did the first time!
  • 2 cups raw hemp seeds*
  • 1/2 cup melted cocoa butter - I buy it online (www.myojio.com)
  • 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of mulberries
  • 2 vanilla beans** (or flavor of your choice)
  • Optional: add a drizzle of maple syrup and garnish with mulberries

* Online, you can find hemp seeds that are not cross-contaminated with nuts:  Ojio (www.myojio.com) or Manitoba Harvest (www.manitobaharvest.com) 

** Slice vanilla beans lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. 

Combine all the ingredients in a food processor. For a chocolate version (a favorite amongst children) add 2 tbsp of carob powder.
