Rose water, blueberry water, chamomile water...

Oh, how I love floral waters! I adore them because these waters, which are also called hydrolats or hydrosols, are so easy to use- you just need to spray them – and in addition, these delights offer many beauty enhancing benefits.

Here's a little guide about properties specific to each of the most popular hydrosols on the market.

Chamomile Water

This water has soothing, relaxing, healing, anti-inflammatory and lightening properties. It is ideal for combination and dry skin, effectively calms sensitive, allergic or irritated skin and is gentle enough for children. It is used to treat rosacea, eczema, acne, psoriasis, hives, sunburn and to reduce stress.

Orange Blossom Water (Neroli)

This water has soothing and softening properties, and is perfect for combination, dry, and sensitive skin. It is used to soothe and refresh skin while improving regeneration and overall radiance. It also seems that this hydrosol works as a sleep-aid for adults and children - drink a glass of water with 1 tsp. of orange flower hydrosol before going to bed. That’s all! I’m trying it tonight!

Rose Water

This water has toning, astringent, firming, moisturizing, and anti-wrinkle properties. It is excellent for dry, sensitive and mature skin, is used to fight the effects of aging, soothe redness and blotchiness, as well as calm allergic skin reactions and eczema. We have Bulgarian Rose water available for purchase at the on-line boutique!

Geranium Water

This water is soothing, toning and refreshing with anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It is appropriate for all skin types and is effective for itchy skin, skin irritations, psoriasis, acne, hives, eczema, sunburns, burns, and insect bites.  It also works as a mosquito-repellant and to reduce stress.

Rosemary Water

This water is astringent, cleansing, toning, and reduces shine. It is perfect for combination, oily, and acne-prone skin as it helps to regulate sebum secretions. Not only does it help clear up skin and balance tone, it can also be used to fight dandruff. We have Rosemary Water available for purchase online.

Caution: It is best to purchase 100% organic floral waters in order to ensure that you are putting only the purest quality products onto your skin or in your body.

Have you ever used hydrosols? If so, which are your favorites?

I love rose water on my face and orange blossom water in my pumpkin pancakes!
